Do you employ staff? If you do then you're about to get a fine...if you don't comply with a really simple rule.
Revenue have recently updated and released the obligation for all Employers to maintain a Register of Employees.
As a minimum you must be capable of producing (on demand from the Revenue) a Register of Employees which includes;
- The name, address and Personal Public Service Number (PPSN) of each employee;
- The date of commencement of employment of each employee; and
- Where relevant, the date of cessation of employment of each employee.
Failure to comply with these requirements will give rise to a penalty of €4,000 and if the employer is a Limited Company then an additional penalty of €3,000 will apply to the Company Secretary of that company.
